So this is gonna be the updated design for the Swagman E-Spec where you have a higher weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike and you have the ability to use this with the ramp and bridge add-on sold separately. In the case of the Toyota Highlander, because of how high this sits, I actually recommend taking a look at that add-on for your extra heavy electric bikes. So let's talk about things like that. When you look at bike racks, you wanna consider if this gives you access to your hatch, things like that. In the case of the E-Spec, it's a lot more fixed compared to your other bike racks. more

So the Tire Hold HD is gonna be your dual wheel mount rack, which means that there's zero frame contact. Plus, something unique to this is its extra high weight capacity of 80 pounds for your bikes. Now, for your total, try not to go over 150 pounds, and then have your heaviest bike towards your Highlander. Now, when focusing on the Highlander though, there are some different things when it comes to the fit, like how this does not tilt down far enough in order to open up your hatch, and depending on your hitch receiver, you may or may not be able to use the anti-rattle bolt. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Tacoma- Video

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination e-bike carrier on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The Destination has a 70 pound weight rating, so it's gonna work for your heavier e-bikes, and it also is a frame mounted carrier. So, the positive on that is the fact that it's gonna give you sturdy contact to the frame, and its unique mast allows you to adjust for the positioning of the clamps on the frame itself. Like, our frame is a little bit alternative versus a standard men's bike, but we're able to position it in a way where we can securely clamp it down. And there's also a second mast that reaches over. It will create 11 inches of separation between the bikes. more

RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner- Video

As far as bike racks go, the GuideRail is a personal favorite of mine because it's really well-built and I think it's a great fit on the 4Runner. It offers one of the best ground clearances out there. How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Kuwait Transfer 3-Bike Carrier on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. You'll notice that our Transfer is a wheel mounted bike carrier where you have a contact point with the front hook that ratchets down to keep the front of your bike down and a rear cradle and strap to secure your bike. The type of person that would want to go for a wheel mounted carrier is a person who owns a bike that has a unconventional frame or possibly a carbon fiber bike frame that's going to secure your bike without having any contact points to the frame itself. The best feature of the Transfer is the fact that you can actually open the arms outward, where you can step on the inside so you don't have to lift over a bunch of things to load your bike. RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Tacoma- Video

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com taking a look at the Rocky Mounts Guide Rail on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The Guide Rail is a wheel mounted bike carrier that basically is gonna work well for anyone that has a bike that they don't want contact to the frame or is not possible like a unconventional frame or a step through bike. Also, if you have a carbon fiber bike frame, you really wouldn't want a hook pulling down on your frame, so you're secured by a front and rear strap. Another really cool thing about the Guide Rail is the fact that it has staggered trays, so it's gonna allow you to basically set the distance between your bikes to minimize handlebar interference. So another really cool feature, you don't necessarily have to have, your support arms symmetrical, so it allows you to offset the distance between the bike frame and the seat post. The Guide Rail can support a bike up to 60 pounds, so that'll work well if you have an e-bike. more

And especially with this one that we're looking at today, being a 1-bike rack, if it's just you, then why bother with a tailgate pad Even on the smaller sizes, they can accommodate up to two bikes and will take up almost half your tailgate, sometimes blocking things like your backup camera. more

All right, Matt with etrailer, and today, we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Bike Rack on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. I think this is gonna be a good choice if you're just looking for something that's gonna be an entry level bike rack just get your bikes from point A to point B. It's gonna have the capacity to hold two bikes, 35 pounds each, so unfortunately, it won't be able to accommodate your heavier e-bikes, and it's gonna have three tie-down points, one on each tire, using a strap. And we're gonna have a clamp on the frame. So unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes, but it will be able to accommodate some other alternative frame bikes, since this kind of slides up and down and can rotate some. If you wanna get into your hatch, you're gonna have to take the bike off, since this doesn't have a tilt-away feature. more

What's nice about it is that it's gonna make two points of contact, one on each tire, so you're gonna be able to haul a lot of carbon frame bikes and alternative frame bikes. And for all four bikes, you can carry up to 40 pounds. Now the nice thing about this rack is it has a tilt-away feature. Now there's a couple pros and cons to it. more

This is gonna be a very versatile entry-level bike rack if you wanna haul four bikes. This is gonna have a maximum capacity of 35 pounds per bike and it's gonna have three strap down points. One's gonna be on each tire and the third one is gonna be attached to your frame. So since it is making frame contact we don't recommend any carbon frame bikes but since this is adjustable too, it's gonna be great if you wanna try to accommodate a lot of alternative frame bikes. Since this is an entry level bike rack, It doesn't have a tilt away feature but something I do like about how it interacts with the Highlander is we still have a lot of clearance in between the back of our vehicle and our bike. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Swagman Current 2-Bike Platform Rack, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2018 Toyota Camry. Right off the bat, if you wanna carry around extra heavy electric bikes, I know your options are limited with the Camry, because you have an inch and a quarter hitch receiver. So whenever you do have to carry those heavy bikes, please double check their weight, see if you can take off the batteries, if they are removable, also, better for the battery life to do that and keep them in your car, and make sure you don't exceed your tongue weight capacity. So with that being said, the Swagman Current will help you out with carrying around those bikes. This is designed to fit in those inch and a quarter hitches, you do have some premium features here to make it easier to live with heavy bikes, one of them is gonna be it has a tilt away lever. That bright green lever, if you pull that or I guess lift it, you can drop this rack down to a tilt, and that allows you to open up the trunk. more

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 bike platform rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2018 Toyota Camry. So right off the bat, we did put a hitch receiver on this Camry in order to carry around a hitch-mounted bike rack like this. It was an inch and a quarter hitch, which kind of limited our options, but even then, the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 is a great match. It's lightweight, it's affordable, and it has that nice platform rack design which gives you that extra stability. So compared to hanging racks, your bikes are gonna be a lot more stable on this rack. Hi everyone, Aiden here with E-trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-bike rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota Rav4. This is gonna be a great option to carry your E-bikes if you need something that's going to be easy to use. Now it does have a lot of touch points, a lot of little straps and things to hold the bike in place, so that can be a little bit unfriendly at first while you're getting used to the bike rack. But I think it does a number of things really well. It holds the bike in place really solidly, that grants it a 70 pound weight capacity per bike. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Toyota RAV4- Video

Hey, everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro on our 2023 Toyota RAV4. Now, the Piston Pro is going to be a platform-style bike rack, able to accommodate up to two bikes with an individual weight capacity of 67 pounds each. Our two main points of contact are going to be on our front and back tire, this dual wheel mount design that have two ratcheting arms that hold it by the tires. So what all that means together is that we're going to be able to accommodate a wide variety of bikes, whether it's an e-bike, a carbon frame bike, or even our alternative frame bikes. One thing really nice about the Piston Pro is it does come with a tilt away feature, has a lever that sits in the middle of the rack, and as we slowly tilt our rack away from our vehicle, we do have the full hatch access. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Toyota RAV4 HR4000- Video

Hey, everybody, Cooper here from etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 on our 2023 Toyota RAV4. Now the Destination series of bike racks is actually going to be my preferred series of bike racks when it comes to entry-level, and the Destination 4 actually does a really good job at holding up to four bikes individually, with a individual weight capacity of 35 pounds each. Because it is a more entry-level bike rack, it does lack some of the advanced features, like a tilt-away, and other things that we'll get into a little bit later. But overall, I am very happy with the rack itself. It's a very easy way just to throw on four bikes and hit the road. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro XTR platform style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is going to be a four-bike rack capable of carrying up to four bikes. It's gonna be a pretty easy system to use because it makes no frame contact, holds the bike by the front tire and the back wheel. The back wheel is held in by a wheel strap and that front tire uses a wheel hook. The hook is the thing that primarily keeps this upright and in place and the back strap provides stability. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Tundra- Video

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Saris MHS on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. MHS is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike by the tires and in these trays. It's gonna mean a couple things, we've got zero frame contact making it good for our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and good for some of our e-bikes too with that battery removed. Like many other bike racks in this class, we do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded just by squeezing this handle at the back end here and letting the bike rack down. It'll stop itself right there, and then this will give us access to our truck bed by opening the tailgate up. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota Highlander- Video

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris MHS Platform-Style Bike Rack here on our 2022 Toyota Highlander. Now, this style of bike rack is becoming more and more popular where you've got a long tray and these two wheel hoops that are holding the bike in place. And this one actually does a really good job of holding it, partially because we've got secondary points of contact at the back wheel with this wheel strap and with this block right here that kinda wedges against the front wheel, and that's gonna keep that movement in the front wheel down to a minimum. Some other racks of this style do have a bit more bike movement, they hold them well, but for some people, that peace of mind, myself included, of seeing your bike staying still on the rack is really nice, so that's a big plus for this rack. Something else you have is the ability to tilt it away with the bikes loaded. more

Now this is gonna be a hitch mounted bike rack, and your Corolla only has one hitch option, a Class one hitch. So, it's something to be very mindful of when you're picking out a bike rack. You might consider a trunk mounted rack. Typically, I'm not a big fan of those but with the very limited hitch option that's gonna even more limit your options for hitch mounted bike racks because the class one hitches just don't have great weight ratings. more
